Tetris on a 6-inch cabinet with a real stick, Marathon mode and a full colour screen.

Fits a coat pocket; the stick makes it the one handheld people play standing in a queue.
The Tetris Handheld Mini Arcade Game is a retro arcade machine for the home: a Handheld Series pocket arcade, 6 in tall, with a 2.5 in screen, and one player at the stick.
Tetris on a thumbstick is the version worth owning. Push left and the Tetrimino steps one column, not three; tap the button and it rotates once. That precision is the difference between clearing four lines and burying your own stack, and it is why we kept the microswitch stick instead of a membrane pad.
Marathon mode runs the original climb: ten lines to the level, and the fall speed moving up every time until your hands stop keeping pace. The full colour screen keeps each piece its own shade so the field reads at a glance in a car or a waiting room. It is the mini that gets borrowed and not given back.
Six inches of cabinet with a marquee, a bezel, a control panel and a coin door moulded into the front. We shrank the shape rather than flattening it, so what lands in your hand still reads as an arcade machine across a room. Three AA batteries come in the box, so the first game starts in the car park rather than at home, and nothing here needs a plug, a stand or a cleared surface.
Tetris here is Marathon: ten lines a level, speed climbing until your stack does. The stick is the point. A microswitch joystick under your thumb beats a swipe at every rotation, because your thumb knows where the gate is without looking and a sheet of glass never tells you anything back. The buttons click loud enough that the person beside you knows exactly when the piece went in sideways. That tactile touch is the argument for a mini cabinet over an app.
A 2.5-inch colour panel sounds unpromising until you see a well drawn for it. These games were made for low resolution, so authentic sprite art at this size looks sharp rather than stretched and the original palette survives. The bezel is deep and matte so daylight does not wash it out on a train. The shell is moulded in one piece with the artwork under a clear layer, and the battery door takes a screw so it does not pop open in a bag.
A retro arcade machine for the home does not have to take up a room. This is six inches of arcade cabinet with a real joystick and a licensed official Tetris board, and it runs on three AA cells, so it works on a train, in a tent or on a kitchen table. The build is a compact miniature of our full size machines rather than a plastic pad with a screen: the stick clicks into its gate, the buttons are arcade buttons, and the lit marquee is printed and backlit the same way. The nostalgia is instant for anyone whose memory of the 90s involves falling blocks in a school corridor, and the action is the original curve, not an easier modern rewrite. There is no coin-operation, no account and no download, so a kid of six and an adult of sixty both get endless turns from the moment the batteries go in.
This is the smallest height we build, and the rest of the collection scales up from it: the 16-inch Counter Series is a tabletop arcade machine for bars and desks, the 37.5-inch Junior Series is a free standing cabinet for a bedroom, and the 61-inch Ultra Series is a full size floor machine for a dedicated game room. Same small family business, same licensed boards, no custom work and no pinball, because a fixed collection is how the quality stays level across every size. The handheld row also carries Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and the WWE fighters, so there is variety without a jump in price. If you are giving one as a gift, check nothing and worry about nothing: it needs no space, no plug and no permission, and it is ready to play out of the box.
Fun gift
got it for a white elephant gift, they loved it.
So fun
This is so fun. Everyone loves playing this game. I appreciate that the sound can be turned off. It’s simple and a perfect size for anyone to play.
Happy
The game arrived in the original packaging and works but there is something rattling around inside that doesn't seem to be interfering with the functionality of the game. Over all I am satisfied with the game but am a little afraid that whatever is loose inside will eventual effect/affect (I can't remember which one to use. Old age. lol) the game. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
Small, but mighty little Arcade player
My 6 yr. old g' son loves this little arcade! He loves all the games he can play, especially keeps his attention in the car. This one and another little arcade were a part of his Xmas gift. He was pleasantly surprised how well it works, but for smaller hands. They take batteries, but have only had to change those out 1X since Xmas, and he plays it alot. A neat little gift!
